LampCommerce is the multi brand e-commerce store owned by Italian lighting brand Fabbian. Leader in it’s field, they sell designer lamps and accessories from major Italian and international lighting brands such as Artemide, Flos and Foscarini.

Having been on Prestashop for many years the e-commerce was in need of a refresh, both in terms of design and platform which had become obsolete. The design needed to better present the prestige of the products the company sells, with prices that go up to thousands of euros – without comprising usability. The platform needed to be more flexible, up-to-date and offer the now industry standard tools which the previous platform couldn’t provide. Essential marketing and promotional tools were desperately needed. One very important detail: the entire product catalogue had to be imported from the old platform to the new one, with literally thousands of SKUs to maintain.

Having worked with the brand for many years, we had already established that the next incarnation of the store would be on Adobe Commerce (Magento 2). Its advanced feature set, capability of handling thousands of SKUs, multistore set-up, sophisticated catalogue pricing rules, coupons and marketing tools made it the obvious choice.

We completely overhauled the design of the site to better represent the prestigious product sold. The new home page includes more space for beautiful product imagery, navigation to access the main brands and new easily updatable spaces showing best sellers and latest products added to the store. The product page is an elegant balance of design and tech. Important technical information is laid out clearly and elegantly along with emphasis on beautiful technical product imagery, while maintaining a highly functional layout.
We imported the enormous product catalogue from Prestashop to Magento without losing any precious data – over 20.000 SKUs. The store – which is in five languages, selling to over 25 countries – has VAT set up to be calculated based on billing address for the EU or without VAT for extra EU addresses. The platform is connected to the client’s warehouse system for real time product inventory updates. Other important integrations included additional payment systems (Scalapay, Amazon), couriers (TNT, DHL) and newsletter signup which subscribes users to the external service the company has chosen to use.
