Edizione Nottetempo is an independent publisher in Milan, founded in 2002 by Ginevra Bompiani, Roberta Einaudi and Andrea Gessner. Publishers of essays, works of fiction and poetry, from their inception, they have maintained a constant dialogue with the international publishing scene. Discovering authors abroad to be translated into Italian and the promotion of Italian authors in other countries.

During a period of change for the publisher they moved their offices from Rome to Milan, and renewed their image with an overhaul of their book cover designs. Their ecommerce also needed to be refreshed to better represent their brand. The previous site was growing tired and the publisher needed more powerful promotional tools their ecommerce platform at the time simply wasn’t able to offer.

Together with the publisher we recommended the move to Adobe Commerce (Magento 2). This enabled us to totally redesign the site and more efficiently manage their product catalogue – which we imported from the previous platform. The site is divided into two main sections. The Italian store and a Foreign Rights section in English where titles that are available for international licencing are presented but aren’t available for purchase.

Numerous personalisations to the Adobe Commerce platform were implemented. E-books are managed and supplied by E-book Republic, which required an integration at code level. Extra useful features were also added, such as a presale notification mechanism. Books that aren’t yet available for purchase are published on the site and the customer can leave their email to get an automatic notification when the title goes on sale. With Adobe Commerce’s robust marketing tools product promotions are now easier to implement and manage.

Andrea and his team couldn’t be happier. The store has been seen as a resounding success and our story with the brand continues.
